ONFI's headquarters have historically been implanted in Paris. The majority of its experts are based at headquarters working on diverse projects, with short to medium duration field missions abroad. Over the last 5 years ONFI has intervened in almost 60 countries worldwide.

The majority of its activities are divided equally between Latin America and Africa (principally the Congo Basin). ONFI also intervenes in Eastern Europe and Central and South East Asia.    

In order to assist it in the implementation of certain projects and in its general development, ONFI has established several subsidiaries in the principle countries in which it intervenes. Today ONFI is present on a permanent basis in Cameroon, Madagascar, Cambodia and Argentina and in the following additional countries through the establishment of its subsidiaries.
